Weekly Capsule: Vol. 1

In my last post, I talked about a new capsule wardrobe series I was starting on my Instagram account. I chose 8 pieces of clothing to mix and match to create 8 different outfits. My goal is to get more wear out of each piece of clothing. It was actually much for challenging then I realized, but I feel like I got a great workout in styling! This week also made me realize that I don’t actually own that many accessories and it’s accessories that can really give your pieces the longevity without the repetitiveness. Guess that means I need to go shopping, haha! Read on to see each outfit and shop these versatile pieces!

Day 1

First outfit for my #8x8closetupdate. I’ve paired my high rise jean leggings with my cold shoulder sweater, and blush loafers. If you read my blog post, you’ll know accessories don’t count, so I’ve added my canteen crossbody and chunky knit scarf. Very casual, yet put together. The best combination!

day 2

Day 2 of my #8x8closetupdate. I’ve put together the perfect fall outfit with my deep plum mini skirt, gray cold shoulder sweater, denim jacket, and chelsea boots. I love how the color of the skirt is perfect for fall and then the boots, sweater and jacket are actually cozy and warm for fall! Such a fun pairing!

day 3

Day 3 of the #8x8closetupdate This combination includes this cozy sweater dress and my chelsea boots. I added in black tights, a straw clutch, and a chunky pearled necklace. I love how a simple sweater dress can be transformed into a fancy outfit!

day 4

Day 4 of the #8x8closetupdate. I have put together the perfect #casualfriday outfit with this mustard chenille cropped sweater, high rise jeans, blush loafers, and blush crossbody.

day 5

I love wearing an oversized sweater with a mini skirt. I’ve added my canteen crossbody and some textured tights. Textured tights are so fun! They make so many different kinds so you can really spice up your wardrobe with this inexpensive addition.

day 6

This outfit is super casual with my high rise denim, cold shoulder sweater, blush loafers, and silky scarf. Scarves are a very easy way to change up your outfit. Just like tights, they are fairly inexpensive and can be found in many patterns and colors!

day 7

I’ve matched my deep plum mini with the cropped chenille sweater. I added some black tights with my chelsea boots.

day 8

The last and final outfit of the #8x8closetupdate series! Today I’ve matched up this sweater dress with my denim jacket and chelsea boots. I’ve added this black crossbody to up the edginess!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this first capsule! Hopefully it has inspired you and your creativity so you can get some more use out of all the amazing pieces you own! As requested, there will be another capsule with 8 more outfits this coming week! Follow me @sweetpetitelife to see each outfit, and check back here at the end of the week to see all of the outfits together!

    1. Thanks, Hannah! You should try it! Just a week! Not a huge commitment, which I like. I’m not ready to cut my whole closet down 😂
